Edwin Sifuna Breaks Silence After His Truck Was Attacked in Kisumu Ahead of Kakamega Rally

Orange Democratic Movement Secretary General Edwin Sifuna has claimed that goons attacked his Linda Mwananchi rally convoy in Kisumu as it headed to Kakamega for Friday’s political engagement.

Sifuna said the incident occurred shortly after the procession passed Riat area in Kisumu. The convoy was en route to Kakamega for the highly publicised Linda Mwananchi rally scheduled for Saturday.

In a statement posted on his official X account on February 20, 2026, the Nairobi Senator alleged that unidentified individuals descended on the vehicles and caused damage.

“Goons struck just after Riat in Kisumu… lakini safari itaendelea,” he wrote, signalling that the rally plans would proceed despite the disruption.

Images and videos shared online showed a truck with a shattered windscreen, reportedly damaged after objects were hurled at it during the confrontation.

The Linda Mwananchi tour has drawn political attention in recent weeks, attracting both supporters and critics within and outside the party.

Saturday’s rally in Kakamega is expected to test the resilience of the organisers amid rising political tensions surrounding the movement.
